What is a Top Hat Discussion? 

A Discussion is created by the course professor to engage with students through talking and exchanging ideas. Some Discussions may be anonymous to discuss sensitive or controversial subject areas. 

A Discussion may or may not be graded. 

A Discussion may be assigned as Homework (Course Work) or presented in class (Classroom)

Posting in Discussions

If the Discussion is graded, then only submitting a "Reply" will ensure participation points are awarded. Enter your reply and select "Post"

Note: Posting a comment on other's posts will not earn participation points.

Anonymous Discussions

Anonymous discussions are the same as regular discussions with two main differences 

Students cannot be identified 

Grades cannot be awarded
